Emperor Paul & Rose Supervisor The Walk In Memory Adieu
Ken Wrasse writes:

"Paul and I attended the fabulous memorial service for Emperor Norton and his enchanting widow Jose Sarria.  This was an experience anyone would enjoy.  It was bawdy, campy, tongue-in-cheek, entertaining, funny and just plain fun!  There were about 150 or so people there, including the newly crowned Emperor, Empress Snatch and Court, Donna Sachet, the Supervisor from District 8, the Gay and Lesbian Freedom Marching Band, the Lesbian and Gay Freedom Day Chorus, a great combo band Robert Sunshine and his Full House, with a singer, Gail Wilson, media coverage, and many attendees.  Jose is very funny and carried off his delusion of being Emperor Norton's widow beautifully.  Dressed in my black suit and cashmere overcoat, I handed out long-stemmed roses to all the drag queens and any MAXers who were there. Paul took our photos, which you see here.  It was a kick in the pants."
